Choosing Airlines
Was just looking at prices for package holidays and was wondering what everyone's thoughts are when it comes to choosing who they fly with. We have only ever gone with virgin, there was something about them that made me feel safe and being an awful flyer, it just makes me feel better flying with them. But I know lots of people are too bothered!
So, whats your reason behind who you book with? |

Usually price for me - I'll book with whichever airline is cheaper provided I feel that the airline has a decent reputation. But the route and stopovers also play a role - e.g. I'd pay more for a route with nicer timings and stopovers I like rather than a route with awful stopover times...

Definitely price for me.
We like to go away numerous times a year,so to be able to do this,we have to get the best prices we can. I have absolutely no loyalty to any airline and what amazes me on this site,is the amount of people that think Virgin are the be all and end all. After flying with some of the Far East carriers, you realise that virgin aren’t actually that impressive! So for me definitely price. Tracy x

Sorry to be extremely lazy but this is what I posted verbatim yesterday afternoon on a thread about Virgin loyalty.
Have to admit that I'm fairly emotionally ambivalent about airlines and have posted on here more than a dozen times that it's a 9 hour bus ride in a tin tube that hopefully gets us there safely, in reasonable comfort and reasonably on time. In reality only £££ counts towards our decision. So far - so good. Before 2008 we flew into SFB about 16/17 times and maybe never the same airline twice but since then into MCO VA have been our operator far more than BA or TC . None of them leaves a lasting impression that they were so consistently bad that I'd never use them again. Equally none of them was exceptionally better than the others that I'd only use them in future. VA do owe me £1,900+ since 6 April - am I being over tolerant is for me to decide but in a moment of deep contemplation I did think about doing a reschedule. Their prices aren't out yet for our next spring dates but the nearest I can get to compare VA PE with BA WT+ (after adding to BA for seat reservation) is VA want around £2,400 for two and BA £1,800. Guess I'll hang on for the refund guys. Mick
