Napa Valley Recommendations
Hi, we are planning to stay somewhere in Napa Valley for 2 nights at the end of our holiday before heading back to San Francisco airport. I have reserved 2 nights in Napa, which are cancellable, but am now wondering if Calistoga or somewhere else would be a better place to stay. We definitely want to visit the geyser at Calistoga, and it also seems that the nicest wineries to visit are at that end of the Napa Valley.
Does anyone who has been to the Napa Valley have any recommendations on the best place to stay, and also the best wineries to visit. Thank you |

We visited Calistoga in our way South to Napa.
We visited the geyser, which was fun although it was misbehaving that day and the Stirling Winery. Would highly recommend this as you ride the cable car up with brilliant views. Lovely self-guided tour and we really enjoyed it. We then stayed the night in Napa before heading on to San Francisco. See trip report below for full account.

Thanks Anji, had already picked out Stirling as a place to visit which is why I thought Calistoga might be a better place to stay than Napa, but reading your report you did seem to really like Napa itself too - still very undecided LOL. Have hotels booked in both places now so will do a bit more research before making a final decision.
