Orlando to New York /Vegas and where else?

Hi this isn't for me it's for my daughter, on 4th July this year she will have completed her one year Disney program. So her and a friend want to see a few places for a remaining two weeks. They want to fly to New York from Orlando on the 5th of July, I know they want to stop at Vegas too.
Any suggestions for places besides N.Y. and Vegas for a two week trip to give some guidance/ ideas etc and in what order.
They intend flying back to the UK from the last place they're at.

The AMTRAC train from NY Penn to Washington DC is about 3 hours. The Washington Mall area is one of the most spectacular that I have seen, anywhere in the World.

The other option is to go North from Penn for 3.5 hrs and see amazing Boston.

Totally agree with the above - 1 1/2 hrs to Philadelphia and 3 hrs to dc on Amtrak. I’ve never been to west coast but if I ever went to Vegas I’d definetley want to do California

San Francisco is fantastic and fairly handy from Las Vegas, our favourite city in the US, or Boston from NY - we got the Amtrack from NYC to Boston, went to Salem, also whale watching, all incredible experiences.
