Insurance, previous and current medical condition.
Save me trawling through other threads if anyone has any advice I would be grateful.
Previous condition: a few months after the last Florida trip in 2016 I was diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer. This time 2 years ago I was in the middle of Chemo followed by an esophagectomy in May 2017. About 6 months ago the surgeon told me in the nicest possible way to clear off he did not want to see me again "as the chances of the cancer coming back were extremely slim". So I am in the very fortunate position of planning the next trip . I will obviously declare this and am hoping it will not affect the premium too much. During the cancer treatment it emerged I had an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm AAA, if people don’t know they have them and they burst it’s not going to be good, so strangely enough the cancer did me a favour. The AAA’s come in 3 sizes and mine is a medium and does not yet need stinted. Obviously I expect the AAA to have an effect on the insurance. In both cases does anyone know if this is the case or the best insurance company to use for my circumstances. |

Hi, sorry that you have had such a rough time, but glad seem to be moving through it.
See my post on this thread that might be helpful. https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...0#post13695840 There are also a number of specific insurers who are particularly good with insurance for cancer patients. There are occasionally threads on here so a search may be useful alternatively Moneysavingexpert often gives good advice in this sphere. |

Not sure how the AAA would effect it but Boots have an indepth online screening process and quite a few of us "post cancer" have had reasonable quotes from them. There is also a "sticky" on the Special Needs thread which may help too.
Also if you go through Quidco they normally offer cashback for Boots. |

Hiya Mel - we purchase individual policies, this winter is Boots long stay, bought via Quidco. Their 20% cash back is on the base insurance, excluding pre existing and Insurance Premium Tax.
