I think it gets bad reviews because its a bit slower than the others.

My daughter and I saw it for the first time last October and we loved it.

We loved it last year. We did a sunset Kilimanjaro Safari, and the park was almost deserted when we left to head towards Asia, so there was already something magical about wandering round a dark, empty park with the lights on the trees, and the Tree of Life Awakenings in the background. Rivers of Light just finished it off!

We loved it too. We thought it was totally different from any other evening show and loved the message and meaning behind it. We found it peaceful, relaxing and inspiring. My DD, who is a Biology student and wants to work in the conservation sector, was in tears as she found it so emotional. I was surprised as the negative opinions on it, but I guess we all like different things. I feel it may be a slower pace of show that some children may not find so interesting, although there was a young boy sat by us who was mesmerised by it and barely moved all the way through it as he was enjoying it so much 😀 .

We also loved Rivers Of Light. It is beautiful and the projections on the trees are breathtaking. A great addition to the park.

We did enjoy RoL but none of us feel the need to see it again, at least for a good number of years. It's one of those "just do it once" type of rides/experiences for us

We loved it even when sitting in the rain soaking wet last May - we only had 3 day base tickets for Disney so had to watch it that day or not at all. If we go back it will definitely be on our list to watch again - DH also enjoyed a few rides on Everest in the dark afterwards using single rider.
