The plant in Turkey is also being closed.

I've found a few other sources that say they'll stop producing the Civic, but will continue business operations in Turkey

ahvalnews/automotive/hon...key-plant-2021

Interesting. May have been a different decision had we been staying in the Customs Union then.

Turkey is a low cost producer close to the Asian market.

Honda official site suggests they will stop making the Civic in Turkey but hint that something else will be made there

I'm not sure how proximity to the Asian market is a factor in this? The cars they're currently producing there are sold in Europe. Turkey are part of the Customs Union, so that will have been a factor in retaining the operation there rather than in the UK.

Honda can make their electric cars in Turkey and import them tax free in to the EU. Unlike building them in the U.K. ( assuming we leave the customs union)

Honda said the move was due to global changes in the car industry and the need to launch electric vehicles, and it had nothing to do with Brexit.

Written for an wider audience and not just brits, all those auto manufacturers listed will suffer from a no deal brexit being out of the customs union and wont think twice about moving out of the uk.

Keep living in denial if you want

It's interesting to compare the reaction to the Honda statement to that made by FlyBMI. They put some of the blame on Brexit and Leave supporters rubbished it. Now, because Honda didn't mention Brexit, they take their statement 100% at face value.
