On DS’s school trip they will be provided for them by the company running it. When we go at Christmas they come as part of our ski hire.

school ski trip

We recently had a pre-departure presentation from the company 321ski.co.uk sending my son on a school ski trip and they suggested: TKMaxx, Decathlon, Sports Direct (Karrimor Range apparently) and also that ALDI (or possibly LIDL?) + Mountain Equipment and Trespass do a deal for around £35 for jackets, trousers, socks, gloves etc. Helmets are definitely being provided by 321ski for us. There is a kit list here: 321ski.co.uk/packages/kitlist.php I hope that helps!

Aldi had their ski gear before Christmas and I believe Lidl has had theirs too. Tkmax a little late for a good choice of gear. eBay for good quality, make sure you get the armpit to armpit measurement for your child's correct fit also no tears to the garment otherwise water will get in. Same for ski pants. A whole lot cheaper and you can re sell if this ski trip is the only ski trip taken. Helmets are compulsory for children in ski lessons in all resorts. Hope this is a bit of useful info for you.

When we started skiing we bought a lot of ours from Aldi. Since then we've bought from tkmaxx, my helmet and goggles were from surfanic. Sometimes eBay. I do have good gloves that I bought from twoseasons.

So should be in the last stages of packing for dds ski trip (goes Friday). Turns out half the stuff she said she has, no longer fits her. Sigh.

You wouldn't believe how much nagging I have done in this only to receive assurances all is ok. Today instead of sorting it out has gone to two games of football.

Only thing I can do without her is money.

How much are you thinking for a one week European trip?

Food and whatnot included.

When my DD went with her secondary school they had an arrangement with a rental company which kept the cost down. I think the company was called sub32

Kids eh!
DS went on Friday and I gave him €100 plus £20 for food for the journey there and back. No idea if that’s too little or too much but it was the general consensus between parents. All his food is included whilst he’s in Andorra.

Excellent - around what I had in mind.

She is campaigning for more. Perhaps she can spend it on basics like trousers as she has so inconsiderately grown !
