Cruise check in time heads up (8pm EST instead of midnight)

Today (25th) was my check in day and I had read on our cruise Facebook page from repeat cruisers that the “midnight” checkin had opened as early as 8pm EST the day before their check in day.

So wanting an early PAT, I’ve had a sleepless night! Took my iPad to bed, and sure enough at 1am (8pm EST on 24th) I was able to check in and get my port arrival time, then 5am (midnight EST) the activites/excursions became available to book. It looked like just about everything was still available too including Palo on several days and cabanas at CC (not that I wanted them, but thought they often sold out before first timers had the chance!)

Mine is 11th Feb, a Monday am!
Gosh, I can do 4.30 wake up or a late night stay up but not both, lol.
Port adventures and Palo more important for me so early to rise it will be me. Early PAT is not so important when you are boardin for 13 nights- cannot wait!

We are lucky enough not to have to choose a PAT, but honestly, it's much better to get to the port at 12:30-12:45, get straight on the ship after checking in then go straight to your room at 1:30.

Otherwise you have to wait in a crowded terminal, fight your way through the people who block the entrance, haul your carry on bags with you while finding somewhere to sit in a restaurant/buffet.

Much easier to arrive a little later, breeze in, drop your bags, then eat/swim/drink etc. The difference in time is negligible.
