Things to do in London for couples?

Dh and I are having a rare night away this weekend in London, i know there's loads to do in London but need some ideas ! We are going to the Old Operating Theatre Sunday and for the talk too, and I have a 2 for 1 voucher with National Rail for the Shard.

The London Eye. Afternoon tea - at the Ritz, Fortnums, the Savoy etc. Harrods (for a browse and a souvenir teddy). The Tower of London ( one of my favourite places in the world.

Chinatown for dinner. An organised walking tour (Dickens, Jack the Ripper).

If you like museums, the V&A has an exhibition on at the moment showing the life and fashion designs of Christian Dior. There’s an exhibition at Buckingham Palace about the Russian royal family.

If you’re not squeamish there’s the BodyWorlds exhibition, showing the work of that German doctor who plasticised human corpses and demonstrated the inner workings on a couple of telly programmes. This is one I want to see.

NB: entrance fees apply for all the 3 exhibitions

We enjoy walking along the Thames; doing the City Wall walk; going to a museum or art gallery. We partly like those options because they are free!

We've just been for 3 days and this time we saw a play, went to the cinema in Leicester Square (it was pouring down!), went to Kensington Palace to see Diana's dresses etc, walked right up the Southbank popping into some places as we passed - Borough Market, the Golden Hind, the Clink museum, the Globe theatre, Southwark Cathedral, visited the Tate Modern etc, passed the London Eye and ended up under Westminster Abbey for cake and coffee. Another day we walked from Kensington Palace through the gardens, Hyde Park, the Albert Memorial, Green Park, Buckingham Palace, the Mall and on to Trafalgar Square then Covent Garden. We had some nice meals and a few drinks. No shopping or museums this time - we walked 20 miles even though we used the tube a lot. It doesn't matter how often we go, we find something different every time.
