Have you thought about puerta Vallarta on the Pacific side.
We have been there twice & riviera maya once.
We thoroughly enjoyed both holidays, but if we were to return,it would be puerta Vallarta.
We felt it had more of a Mexican feel to it,rather than an American feel, which is what we wanted, when we visited Mexico.
It may be worth a look

We are going to Bahia principe Sian Ka'an adult only on the 1st June. I too have seen pictures of the wildlife, I hate spiders but haven’t been put off. It still looks amazing. And I’ve booked a ground floor suite so more likely to have the odd insect in

We went to Mexico a few years ago. We stayed near Tulum and did trips out almost every day, a few were organised via the tour company but many of them we either caught a taxi or the collectivo (a shared mini bus that charges a flat rate), not once were we approached in any way that made us feel uncomfortable in any way, I felt totally safe 100% of the time - totally loved it

We are thinking of Mexico, moon palace or hard rock hotel, both look amazing and we’ve heard great reports

This place is 2nd on my favourites list with Orlando being top. If we were not doing Florida this year I would go back in a heartbeat.
We stayed here last May. Absolutely loved it and would recommend to anyone.

Another vote for Eldorado Seaside Suites, have never eaten such fantastic food in an "all inclusive" hotel. Just superb.
It's aldults only, which was relaxing and the staff were just superb.
Still dreaming of the swim-up bar cocktails... and our first ever Spa treatment - just WOW, now a must.
Booked an amazing meal / show at Cirque du Soleil - a definite must, as was a trip to climb the temples in Tulum and swimming in an underground pool.
Took the local colectivo bus into town for a bit of shopping.
Flew premium with Tui and had used Canada Tours for the private transfer - so we were at the bar before the main coach arrived ...😎👍
Will go back one day - but guess what - Disney next year again ! Woohoo.

We have stayed in the Riviera Maya area three times, never felt unsafe, on the last trip we went to Tulum really early in the dark to beat the heat, we walked down a dark track and that was a bit scary! Always found the Mexican people and taxi drivers quite friendly. Mainly we stay in the resort though.

I ended up cancelling Mexico yesterday and booking a cruise & stay instead. I am a terrible sleeper and I would just be sitting up all night listening for noises of creepy crawlies...
