Extra memory iPad Air

I found out that you can add memory to the iPad I with a usb memory stick and a lead sorry forgot what they called it but works well. I be uploading films for our flights 😆

Can you add apps or app data onto the extra memory ?

would think it only films. i think apps wouldn't as they need to be on the ipad itself for security reasons. could be wrong though

Yes, they also sell USB sticks with a lightning connector built in and you can store all manner of content on them (documents, photos, videos, music, etc) and access them from the iPad. That's been a thing for many years.

As far as I'm aware, you can't store apps on the USB stick and then run them from there. The apps have to be on the iPad, but the files can be on the USB stick.
