magic kingdom unavailable to book 31st oct

as above just looking im unable to book 31st oct halloween this year if we go, is this because disney havent released the date for booking yet or its just not available?
weve not even bought our disney tickets yet as we still unsure if it will happen but the main reason for doing disney was because of halloween and the boo bash so may not bother and save a few grand to spend elsewhere if mk is already booked up!

Just to say as the boo bash is a separate ticketed event, you don't require a park pass if you have a boo bash ticket, but of course if you want to visit the park before the boo bash entry time then you would require one

That’s correct, we may book boo bash too but was wondering is that it that the mk is already booked up on halloween?

There are 3 availability calendars. (offsite tickets, onsite tickets and annual pass holder)

MK is available on the 31st for Annual Pass holders.

Availability is likely to increase across all categories as Disney follow the guidance of the authorities. So just because there is no availability now, doesn't mean that its final.

Personally I'd avoid MK on the 31st Oct, it will be rammed.

Can’t you just go into any park after 2pm when park hopping opens up?

Is that allowed now?
I’m not clued up on all the rules etc since covid started but that would be handy as we try to do 2-3 parks when we visit for a day!

Currently yes, that's how park hopping works at the moment. If you have a park reservation for a particular park, then at 2pm you enter another park or parks without having a reservation (subject to the 2nd park not being at capacity)

My understanding is you book the park that you want to start in that day and then from 2pm you can move between any of the parks
Molly from All Ears recently filmed a 4 park challenge where she did this

That’s great, suppose a lot can change between now and October if things keep improving, like the recent mask rule change that was supposed to stay until next year!
We can live with the current park hopping rule though as we like to go in one park for rope drop get done mid morning, head home for a few hours in the pool then go back mid late afternoon😁
