Wisdom tooth extraction

Managed last night, this morning it’s hurting again, took 2 paracetamol and 2ibroprofen at 7 but the pain is still there. Seems to take ages to kick in and doesn’t last very long. Might try and get some codine later.
Don’t get why they said to wait, surely it shouldn’t hurt like this. It’s almost like there is a razor blade in my gum and someone is punching that side of my face constantly

I found the soluble ones to be faster acting if you can cope with the taste. You're right, it shouldn't hurt like this and it will only get worse if not treated so asking you to wait seems like kicking the can down the road. Infuriating!

I don’t understand that. If it is dry socket it starts a few days after the extraction. I went after 7 days and I was told I should have gone earlier.

that's a load of rubbish dry socket can occur as soon as 3 days after extraction and needs treating asap. I would call back and tell them you think you have dry socket and need an emergency appointment. If they won't see you contact the out of hours dentist later and tell them your dentist refused to see you. Goodluck

Called them today. They can’t find who told me to call back today on the system.

They have managed to fit me in now. Will see what it is. Could need antibiotics or something.
Pain in the back side taking the kids with me. Will be cross if they say I should have come earlier and the receptionist has made me wait for nothing

I went back to dentist yesterday,they said I’d got dry socket and packed it .woke up in the night to it falling out

My packing fell out of my dry socket. Pain lasted a few more days but 7 days on from it being cleaned out and packed out, the pain has subsided considerably I need to take paracetamol before I go to bed but I can get through the day without pain relief.
