My understanding is that both need to be in the same name.

That would be impossible if flying away on say a honeymoon though. Must be some provisions given.

I posted the same question last week, i've decided to change my doctors records (and therefore my covid pass) back to my maiden name so it matches my passport for travel.

Gov.UK says they should be in the same name… gov.uk/guidance/nhs-covid-pass

I know someone who has had issues because of a spelling mistake so would say names need to match.

Not really, a honeymooner isn't likely to have changed their name anywhere yet. Unless there's been a decent gap between the wedding and honeymoon of course.

As for the OP, recommend changing your name at the GP back to your previous name for now. I've travelled before (many years ago) with mismatched names and it was a real pain. I wouldn't risk it with how strict entry requirements are now.

It won't be a problem but you will need to have a copy of your new marriage certificate which should show your old name as on your passport and your new married name as on your vaccine certificate. I see this at work fairly often.

I agree. This is what I’m doing when we honeymoon next year. I’m getting married on the 1st and flying out on the 7th. I’m not changing my name anywhere until we return from our honeymoon.

Once I come back, I’ll change everything including my passport.
