Wow, thank you so much everyone. I’m going to now look at all these in detail. I like the idea of staying in different parts of the strip to explore. On our first night we won’t have lots of time but on the last night, we’ll have a lot more time to explore.

Can you use the pools and lazy river at the MGM Grand if you’re staying at the Signature? Most sites suggest you can but it says you can’t on their website

You always used to be able to but seeing some recent posts saying not at the moment. Maybe it's a covid measure to reduce the numbers?

We didn’t stay in a casino hotel. Instead we found a fabulous room at the Vdara next to the Bellagio on VRBO. We were on the 52nd floor. That view was to die for. You can walk directly into the Bellagio and get the monorail which I think is free. It doesn’t go too far but don’t underestimate the length of time it takes to cross the roads in Vegas! It’s worth getting it just to skip that part if you are time stretched. It’s a shame you only have one night because there is so much to see.

It’s not just crossing the roads.
“It’s not far to the next hotel, let’s walk “ usually results in getting hot and cross as they are all far further than they look !

Ain't that the truth! On our first night we had booked Cirque at Mandalay Bay. We totally underestimated the walk. In the end we were running! Unfortunately DH fell asleep about 5 minutes in and missed the entire show! We walked back to the Vdara and it took us so long to get back!

Thank you so much everyone. I think we’re booking Venetian for our first night and MGM Signature for our last night. The Venetian is coming up as by far the lowest priced accommodation of our whole trip, though the most luxurious! Maybe it’s just the time of year (beginning of July).

Vegas hotel pricing has always been an anomaly. It has the typical higher at weekends cycle you expect, but is heavily influenced by conferences and other events. So if you are there midweek with no major events on, they're practically giving the rooms away.

I prefer the Palazzo to the Venetian but it's just a preference. They're basically one huge resort, so either side is fine. Good location too.
