Kids unable to disembark at port of call
Hey all
When is the covid policy for DCL likely to be reviewed? Looking to go on our first DCL cruise next year (Caribbean) with our 8 and 4 year old. Current guidelines are the kids will not be able to disembark at any port of call unless it is an arranged Disney Port Adventure so there is no exploring of the islands allowed for younger kids who cant be vaccinated yet or even just spending time on the beach! Just seems that will affect a massive market for Disney. |

I think Royal Caribbean were reviewing theirs in November the last time we checked. We were planning on booking a Bahamas cruise for next year but have decided against it because we have an unvaccinated 12 year old and it was just too stressful to think about.

I would book it now as prices only ever go up - you can always cancel for a full refund if the policy doesn't suit you (within the written guidance of cancellation).
They can change their policies at any point and I'd guess review it weekly if not daily. But it's really the countries they visit making the decisions and not the cruise company. Joa

Unvaccinated kids can only get off on a paid excursion Parents can’t leave children under 18 on the ship either

This is pretty much all cruiselines at the moment. This is country policy and not cruise line though so we will be waiting until that’s lifted.
At least Disney are letting kids cruise, other lines have just cancelled a load of people off their cruises for October half term because the kids are unvaccinated.

The policies are constantly under review so it could change at any time. It really is dependant on the ports they are going to. Once the Caribbean relaxes its stance DCL will. DCL tours is probably the way it will be for awhile but DCL do a lot of beach tours in the Caribbean (just more expensive than doing on your own). As said most of the requirements are actually the islands and not just DCL.

Are they even allowed to disembark at Castaway Cay?

Yes, CC is the only place the whole family can get off. They have had special dispensation for it.
