I saw you wanted to go to the Avenue of the giants. It’s not the same but we went to the redwood state park just south of San Fran and stayed overnight in a place called Saratoga oaks before going down to Carmel and the PHC.

The state park was beautiful and gave us a taste of the redwoods.
