Out of curiosity why are you using a harness?

The pets at home harness above is their own version of the Ruffwear Webmaster. They have 3 straps and are almost escape proof. They are very expandable too. Our tiny puppy had the medium one of its smallest settings and has only just grown out of it at 20kg. |

Always an emotive issue... but why not?
Our lurcher is harnessed in the car and when on a 10 or 20m lead. She would break her neck if she ran on a long line and a collar. We use a collar and lead for sort walks or (rarely) when she's going off lead. I'm not sure it's relevant to question why somebody wants a recommendation? |

We use a julius k9 harness. We have used these for years very good and sturdy. We have a very big boy so when next to the road it’s a short lead attached to the harness and collar. When I go into the fields it’s a longer lead but still attached to harness and collar

Julius K9 harnesses are very good, you can get patches to put on the side saying ‘nervous’ ‘do not pet’ etc which are very handy if you have a dog like that.

I am a ruffwear fan too. I would not make a new puppy do anything by force. Let him have time just to get used to you and his new environment for a week or so. Then let him sniff around the car, put him in and take him out with lots of treats etc. Take it slowly.

Great advice, am going to use high value treat and toys in car, and just persevere slowly.
