Thanks so much everyone!
Good news is that it’s gone! Well 95%. Turns out the nail polish remover did work, I just needed to use a lot more welly. I will be an awful lot more careful in future

This may do it, great stuff. Get it on Amazon. We use it on everything.
Edit see you got rid of it anyway, but we’ll worth buying this stuff for any waxy, greasy Staines on anything, and stains generally.

Thanks! I’ll look it up. It wasn’t waxy or Greasy, it had dried rock solid like varnish. I really thought it would wipe off like spilled olive oil. I’ll defo know for next time
