Airport flight taxes

was looking at a flight from los angeles to honolulu with virgin using miles if we decide to try out the west coast next sept

am i reading this right $11.20 return flight plus 30000 miles

Yes, flight taxes in the US are MUCH lower than here.

I wouldn't call it the best use of miles though as that fare is only about £250 and you'll often find it for half that as you get closer to the time. But I stopped using miles a few years ago, so might have outdated values in my head. And if you have more going spare than you'll use, may as well cash them in.

i can get flights from london to honolulu with a 6 hour stop over in los angeles for £264 each 60000 miles and a companion voucher. but would like to stop in los angeles for 5 night eithe side of flying to honolulu

cant see any using multi city option
