Uber would be cheaper and I'm not sure about a taxi as it depends on time and traffic.
We’re thinking of the shuttle next year as there’s only 2 of us. Did it stop at lots of different hotels?

Have used both Mears (Disney reception booked us our shuttle) and uber- much preferred uber as not stuck to specific times and you are flexible - also cheaper and not reliant on others being late!

Wife did Mears last time round and were stuck waiting for others so Uber might be better

Sorry to jump in, how easy is it to get a Uber from universal back to hotel. Where is best place to wait?

We used Mears shared shuttle often. Usually it went to 1 other hotel as well as ours. Took about 30 min. It was $19 per person return.

You can’t book for just one way. It starts about 8.30 am and they give you a choice of time slots.

If there are more than two of you a taxi would be cheaper. Last time we wanted a 6am transfer to Universal so we could get early opening, so used a taxi. It was $35 one way.

Uber will be cheaper anyway.

You could always get picked up from one of the onsite hotels if you fancy having a look round or trying out the bar etc. but otherwise I think you make your way to where the shuttles drop off so just before you get on the travelator things

Thank you as we plan on eating a city walk after universal we probably will go to the shuttle area to wait for one. I am sure when we get an uber to the park we can ask the driver for suggested pick up places too xx

To my mind, paying c.$20 per person for a shuttle that runs on someone else's schedule and has lots of stops is totally bonkers when an uber is less than c.$15 each way for a family of 4 and runs on your schedule when and where you want?

Definitely worth creating a free account and taking your phone on hols to me. Also if you don't take your phone on hols, how do you book 4th+ fastpasses?

But I know everyone is different! You do you, of course.

We booked shuttle in the lobby at Animal Kingdom Lodge. If I recall, there was a direct line to them (free of charge).
We stopped once at the POP century and the journey took about 30 mins or so.
We were given an option of return times and if our plans changed, we were to call and give them about 2hrs notice so as they could re-schedule.
It was worth the price for the 2 of us except the last journey back. There was some kind of mix up and a lot ofpeople waiting .They put on 2 coaches and dropped dependant upon which hotel you were in.It took about an hour to get back (with 3/4 drops before us).

coach was air conditioned though and we were so wrecked, we just wilted and snoozed!
