Dreadful service.
This is exactly us Tom, I once sent my son a postcard in May and he got it in September!

It's been a long time since I bought stamps there but from memory, I always had to go to a USPS store when mailing international. Domestic stamps were fine to buy elsewhere (e.g. Walmart, Publix) but they didn't carry the international ones. May be different now - I don't do postcards any more.
In the past we've bought international stamps for postcards from City Hall at MK. You can also get them from the little gift shops outside the parks. There's also a convenient postbox at the entrance to MK where you can post your postcards. I liked the idea of sending postcards from MK (rather than from some company in the Channel Islands).

This was about 4 years ago or so and therefore may have changed recently.

There are lots of fun stamps for sale. I write to my grandchildren (they are 1900 miles away) every week or so and write now have the Disney Villains stamps as well as sharks and butterflies on my desk at work.

I think posting is great for kids. I know my grandchildren love my mail and I enjoy finding unique cards and an occasional post card. I alos think sending mail to little ones encourages them to read.

I will admit postcards are getting harder and harder to find. The one's I fond tend to be photographers work rather than mass produced cards. Same at Disney, there used to be several displays in each shop-now you really have to look.
