Minnie Vans - Our Experience

Hi not long back from our Thanksgiving Trip and used the Minnie Vans on a number of occasions.

I had downloaded the Lyft app before leaving home and then went the next morning at Animal Kingdom Lodge and a Cast Member phoned to get the Minnie Vans activated on my phone. Then it was simple to click on the app to request a Minnie Van at a cost of $20 per trip to anywhere within Disney property. The driver told us that we had the opportunity at the end of the journey to leave feedback but not to tip as Disney Drivers are not to be tipped.

The extremely busy times are first thing for park opening and also when the park is closing, especially MK.

Sometimes we got a driver to accept quickly other times when waiting to be accepted the request timed out and had to request again. Tried a couple of times late in the evening at MK but could not get a Minnie Van and on a couple of occasions it was quicker to get an ordinary Lyft driver, usually cheaper but not always.

Used the Minnie Vans on two occasions when daughter was going horse riding and later when we had the Sleigh Ride booked at Fort Wilderness and this was fantastic.

I had problems getting Uber to work on my Samsung phone and needed it downloaded again but google wouldn't do this for me, had the 3 sim in this phone but the Lyft app worked well on my iphone.

At $20 a ride it can add up but there were occasions that we wouldn't have made our reservation etc without it and I would definitely use it again.

$20 seems a bit steep. I just checked my uber account and trip from the Contemporary to AKL at 11pm cost only $10.38. I can’t think of a much longer trip you could do on property. It could make sense if you need the a six seater with car seats though
