Last september was hot and humid and not a lot of rain. I didnt find the parks too bad, the usual long waits for the popular rides.
Universal was much quieter than Disney

We always go in September! We find it a bit quieter and queues aren't too bad! I wouldn't let weather put you off, we have been going since 2008 and only been in one hurricane! Its our IDrive trip this year so we don't do Disney at all, so Galaxys Edge won't bother us, but the new Hagrid ride might be an issue at Universal!

We did 3 weeks last September and hardly saw a drop of rain - in fact the weather was better than this year in May. We're back again this September - but we've got annual Universal passes this year so we'll be there rather than Disney. Last September Universal parks & water parks were pretty quiet and queues a lot shorter than expected - although with the new Hagrid ride I'm expecting a bit of a bun fight in HP land!

We went in the last 2 weeks of September 2014, was awful weather. It was raining pretty much all day every day. The last 2 days the sun came out but up until then it was bad! It didn't put us off though as we are going back this September.
We had been 2 times prior to 2014 in September and the weather was good. Only short storms in the afternoon. Weather is unpredictable wherever you go but it is hurricane season in Florida at that time. Crowds will be heavy this year (we booked before we knew Galaxy's Edge was opening ) We will avoid the parks at the weekend, and try and go in the mornings to make the best of it. |

People have been saying that the queues are not as manic as they were on Thursday - some have almost walked onto the ride.
Single rider line has been open at times too. It should be fine by September

Thank you worth considering then just got to check work ect. Am I right in thinking hurricane season is up to Nov? Is there any reason Sept is worse than Oct? Or is it just luck?

Its our preferred time of year to go. Yes the parks are a little quieter. The weather is still warm but not as humid as June-August. Yes there is a chance of a hurricane but touchwood we have been fine each trip.
You also have the halloween events on which are definitely worth a visit.
