I've been in both months. I was there in May this year and enjoyed plenty of sunshine. I've been in October in the past and it's been just a bit cooler but not much so.
The other advantage with October is that US high schools don't tend to visit then as they did when I was there in May, and they were a problem as they tend to go round in large groups. As others have said, watch out for Haloween as the Americans tend to go big on it. Hurricanes should have passed over by October, although any residual damage may still be evident. I remember seeing it in Orlando after one bad season. |

We always did May, but after 5 days of rain I think in 2009, we switched to October & much prefer it. We like it hot too & found the weather is similar plus there's the food & wine @ Epcot & also HHN.
Been last 6 years in October & had perfect weather except a couple of days this year when the hurricane passed by!

Thank you so much for the replies, been really helpful and nice to hear some thoughts. I think given the whole school thing that October it may well be!

Hi
They are both great times to go - we were there the first two weeks in May and the weather was gorgeous, parks were manageable and not too much queuing! We have also been in October - excellent weather as well. Gets dark a little earlier in the evening but temperature during the days will be in the 80's and no humidity. Enjoy! Kev |
