I have been November, October, May and August and the worst weather was August. That was 2016 and I don't know if it was exceptional BUT they had blankets in cupboards in the bar.

Have been a few times(kitesurfing) and it's always windy just not as strong in the summer.

I’ve been and stayed in the Iberostar, it was very good indeed.

The blanket thing is typical for the Canary Islands which is why when we "discovered" Cape Verde further South we started going there for winter breaks. But in August you should be okay. I've been a couple of times in the summer always at the Melia Gorriones on Playa Barca and it has been really warm. Have a look at the climate data for Jandia.

That was why I specifically put the year in case it was exceptional.
We had glorious weather there in May possibly 2013 and that was the first time I'd see the blankets. It's not my favourite Canary Island to be honest but we liked the hotel.
