Doesn’t the cancellation dates have to match too? I’m searching but I get the same

Not quite sure what you mean. We book on hotels.com, then look for exactly the same date, room etc on Trivago. Hotels.com - £1600, Trivago (stay for long) £1100.

Hotels.com give one free night for every ten you stay, plus we know they're reliable.

They keep rejecting our price matches for ridiculous reasons, I think it must be a new tactic.
In the past, we've tried a few times and eventually they've matched.
We only have so much patience though.

I’ve checked Expedia/booking.com t&cs this morning, most have to have identical cancellation terms, sadly this isn’t the case with trivago/stay for long. But I will keep trying!

Same here. We might end up ringing hotels.com to get them to do the match.

Otherwise we cancel and book direct with stayforlong.

Have you used stay for long in the past with accommodation you have booked? I have booked disney dolphin with them, it’s free cancellation but far cheaper than all the other sites, although you do have to pay resort fee there. Disney have confirmed my booking ref too, just don’t hear many people use them

We've always used hotels.com and never had a problem, which is why we stick with them. There prices aren't usually the cheapest, but we've never had problems with them price matching before. We also like them because of the rewards nights.

This time though, it looks like we'll be going elsewhere.

We tend to book hotels either direct with the hotel which sometimes works out cheaper or through hotels.com as we know they are reliable.
