Printer for Scrapbooking
My soon to be 13 year old daughter has hinted at wanting a printer to connect to her phone for scrapbooking.
I have no idea what to look for. I have seen some mini ones but not sure if they are any good and what about cartridges - are they expensive? Can any dibbers give me any advice?

Something link this is pretty good our niece has one
amazon/Lifeprint-P...tronics&sr=1-3 The paper is astronomical and I'mnot sure how long the ink lasts (or how easy it is to replace) but she loves it You might want to dig a little into why they want it (rather than just using self service Boots photo print stations or a normal printer and scissors) as these are an expensive way to print pictures. Useful it you want to print something you don't want Mum&Dad or the shopkeeper seeing you print if you know what I mean! |

Thanks!
Wow, the price of the paper is eye watering! I think I will encourage her just to get prints in the normal way. She was mainly wanting to make a scrapbook of the cat. She must take a hundred photos of the poor thing every day using every imaginable filter.

Has she looked at Snapfish and freeprints apps? You get 50 free prints a month, paying just postage.

There are cheaper printers (but not as good), however the paper is really the "kick-in-the-backside" here as that will be the same regardless of the printer cost
And if your 13 year old is anything like mine was at that age, they understand the value of money, but have a disconnect on the value of things bought with that money (i.e. she'd get that the paper was expensinve to buy, but once she had it she wouldn't equate each print-out to being effectively a £1 per page) |

This is the way our DD does it now. Service has been great and cheap in comparison to the printers.
The printers are great for events like weddings where you want people to have a keepsake for example. If the need isn't for an instant photo then use one of the cheap services to get them printed and delivered. |

We got dd a HP printer at Christmas with 6 months free ink, added a referral and an online code and we have 8 months free printing of 300 pages a month for the £80 the printer cost us.
We’re using it for homeschooling, to print the work and scan it to send back but it also takes photo paper so we bought her a 100 pack of 6x4 and she’s been printing photos for her scrapbook. They’re decent quality and she’s wizzing through the colour ink but new ones just appear in the post. |

I have a canon selphi printer, but I use Asda if I want a lot of prints.
I do like the Selphi when I am editing and printing as I scrapbook. Selphi paper/ ink works out around 36p per print if you buy the pack of 100. Edited at 07:14 PM. |
