A couple of years behind you Mick but also passed in the Austin 1100. Had a matchstick tapped to the rear windscreen to help with the reversing round a corner.

Before the car had a Lambretta GT200 and remember putting a shot of Redex in the tank think it was a 1p. Also had the compulsory tiger tail hanging off the rear chrome carrier.

Those were the days!

I was 23 when I passed my test which, I guess, is pretty old these days. My parents never had a car and didn't actually take a test. My transport to work was a push bike.

In the refinery the rates are at minimum but motor spirit is still being made, do you know how hard and long it takes for a refinery to stop production.

I thought it was only going to be that price until the 23rd of March. So have they extended the offer? Diesel was 106.9 if anyone was interested.

I'm sure I remember working in a petrol station and it used to be below t0p a gallon - maybe I'm dreaming ! It would have been mid 1970s

My dad had an Austin 1100, in fact after the first one got very rusty he went and got another one. All second or third hand as that was all he could afford.

Ladies and gentlemen of The Dibb, meet our resident dinosaurs... luckily I'm younger than both (specially that awld fart Gadgey Mick) but I sort of remember hearing about petrol in years gone by.

Bear in mind that whilst our resident dinosaurs deserve the utmost respect it's not compulsory, don't bother, I never do...
