Quebec 2016 - On y va LIVE - Pre-trip introduction

Bonjour,

I am currently sitting in Frankfurt Airport and thought that I may as well actually try to do a trip report this year. I wrote up daily notes last year but they have never seen the light of day.

First of all - a brief introduction to us:
Me - Mel. Aged 47 (not sure how that happened). Wife and mum as well as a training manager. Favourite thing to do - travel!

J - DH aged 48. Hard working to pay for my love of travelling (that seems to be a common theme on here!)

O - DS aged 14 but will celebrate his 15th birthday while away. Typical teenager but very funny when he wants to be.

F- DD aged 11. A very lovely girl. Has type 1 diabetes (mentioned as it does sometimes impact on how we do things - but it never stops us doing anything!)

The plan:
3 1/2 weeks in Quebec. This is a return trip after a fab holiday last year but to completely different places. Details to follow!

Am hopefully going to attempt this live. All photos will be from my iphone (so maybe not the best at times!)

We have 5 stops on this trip - any more and the rest of the family risk throwing a wobbly.

The first stop is 8 nights in the above cabin (without the snow I hope! ) in the Laurentians - about 90 minutes north of Montreal.

Plans are to relax (gosh - it could be a very repetitive report - shouldn't say that as no-one will read it. ), swim in the lake, a visit to a waterpark, some shopping and lots of fresh air.

Then we have an overnight stop in Quebec city - just because the next place wasn't available until the Sunday.

It falls well as it is DS's birthday and the first night of their annual fireworks. We went to Quebec City last year so don't feel the need to do anymore sightseeing.

The next stop is a week on the Saint Lawrence river in this house. Looks amazing. Miles from anywhere in a 20 acre forest.

I can't wait!

Then back towards Montreal before turning north to the Mauricie National park and 5 nights here. The house comes with a hot tub and canoes. More fresh air.

Finally 3 nights in Montreal.

We have booked tickets to the football match but other than that will probably do the underground walking path and shopping.

Then back home - again via Frankfurt.

Thanks for reading! I hope it is of interest to some of you as I know it isn't a traditional DIBB holiday destination.

Oooo a Canadian adventure - sounds fab. We're off to Toronto in September but don't have any great plans to venture too far out of the city at the moment. I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip.
