I am very excited about the shinkansen! =D (also a train nerd here - my 15 weeks away includes 7 weeks inter railing in Europe, 3 weeks in Japan with a JR pass and 4 weeks group tour in china mainly on trains - so excited! Thinking I may do a blog from the trains as chunks of days)
I am sad you didn't get to Hakone - I hope its not foggy when we are there. The pirate ship looks ace! Good that they took you to other options though
