UK US women's clothes sizes

I don't really understand american sizes!

What does a UK 14 equate to in the US? Is it two sizes up so a US 18 or only one size up so a US 16?

And what does misses mean?

A UK 14 is a US 10.

They are sized down so a UK 14 would be a 10-12 USA

I buy 8s and I�m a UK size 12... love buying stuff in the USA!

You�ll find 3-4 ladies sections in some stores.
The difference is in the sizing & cut of the clothes.

Juniors is aimed at teens with no curves yet.
Misses will be the largest section aimed at women of every age and is what in the UK is just the ladies section; US sizes 0-16/18 or XXS-XL; cut for those with a figure & more generous than Juniors.
Women is cut more generously again & likely to be looser & is for those with an even fuller taller figure; sizes usually notated by W & start at W12-14 & upwards or 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X etc.
Petites cut with shorter sleeves & lengths for those 5ft 3� & under; often notated with P.

If you�re UK size 14, you need the Misses section or Petites.
