Anna Marie Island or St Pete Beach ? Plus Fishing

Hi, going to grab a few days by the coast, hopefully with a party fishing boat for the boys somewhere in the schedule.

Any recommendations ? I was aiming for St Pete beach but is A M I also worth a look or better ?

Never seen any party boat fishing trip off Anna Maria Island, fishing's ok off the pier but never had anything worth eating. The Keys too far? Islamorada's amazing, plenty down there, caught bucket loads of yellow tail off the Capt. Michael at Robbies which Lazy Days, the local restaurant cooked up for us next evening. Caught a good size shark too but couldn't land it.

Cheers for the reply. Yes we have done the keys before (and loved it) we had an excellent fishing trip on Marathon Lady party boat.

We'll be looking for 1 or 2 nights on the coast and then do Busch gardens on the drive back to Orlando.

Both the Sunshine Skyway Fishing Pier and Fort Desoto Fishing Piers offer something great fishing opportunities without having to do a fishing charter.
Plenty of YouTube videos of both places and neither require you to have a FWC Licence.
We have caught really big stingrays, bonnethead sharks, Spanish Mackerel and hundreds of smaller species.

We havent got any fishing equipment so would need tackle hire or something. That's kinda why I like the boat trip as it's all included. Thanks for the information on the piers I will check them out 👍

Bass Pro do some great little kits for not much more than $15, probably not what you�re used to but worked fine. We always take 2 Shimano travel rods but hubby bought one of these last year for our boy who came with us and was so impressed he brought it home ... but then again, he is a collector 😂
