Avis car hire insurance question
We have booked a hire car with Avis using Avios points via BA. I've seen other posts saying the insurance cover is fully inclusive of everything but the way it is confirmed by BA is a little confusing so wanted to check if I needed anything additional?
The documentation states: Rate includes: UNLIMITED MILES Tax and Surcharge Third Party Liability (TPL) Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) CUSTOMER FACILITY FEE STATE SURCHARGE TIRE & BATTERY FEE VEH. LICENSE FEE X £10.0 EXTENSION FEE MAY APPLY X FUEL POLICY IS FULL TO FULL X £15.0 LATE FEE MAY APPLY CAR RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS Unless shown as included, Collision/Loss Damage Waiver, Theft Protection and Additional Liability Insurance are excluded from the rental but will be available, if required, to purchase locally. The terms of the cover is provided in or with the Rental Agreement at the time you collect your vehicle. Has anyone else used Avis via BA and did you need to purchase the Theft Protection and/or Additional Liability Insurance? Thanks, Peter

Used Avis with BA a couple of times, and going to again this year. I see it as you have all you really need, comparable to other car rental companies.

ALI and TPL are the same thing with Avis, and you are covered up to $1 million, so long as you have CDW and Third Party liability, there is no need for anything else.. also your booking will show the outstanding amount the car hire will cost, you do not pay any monies, and the amount drops off the booking when you pick up the car and Avios/BA then pay Avis. The reason it does not drop off until then is that you may, (for one reason or another) not take that car hire, so you pick up the car and then Avis gets paid...also make sure you join Avis Preferred (Free) and straight to garage...

Thanks guys, that's reassuring.
Also Gasman66 thanks for the tip on Avis Preferred... Cheers, Peter
