Exactly as Choppy girls says. Lambing in important as they will expect you to have this and you only get the one chance each year. Also, most vet schools will only consider work experience that has taken place in the 2 years prior to you application. So for example, for the October 2019 applications the placements have to have taken place after January 2016. It’s good to try and get a good range of placements too (equine, lambing, exotics etc) and get a week in a vet referral hospital as well as a first opinion practice as she will see more complicated cases and will be expected to discuss these at interview. Good luck to her, it’s a real slog to get a place but so worth it. My dd is loving every minute of it.

Thanks all. She had the best day at RVC yesterday & I'm so glad we went. The student ambassadors were really lovely with her as were all the staff. It was a very hands on session, she can't wait for the next one.
