Big Bear Mountain Area

I've just found this whilst looking at Google Maps for ideas!

Anyone stayed there in the Summer? It looks a bit like Whistler (which my boys all loved last year - especially the mountain biking park).

Any recommendations on where to stay?

we stayed there a few years ago (westin monarche) we thought it was a lovely town and really enjoyed a couple of days there with plenty of activities

Didnt stay there put took a day trip there when we were staying in Laguna Beach. Lake Arrowhead is near and is also worth a trip , we liked it better than Big Bear. Has a boat trip you can do on the lake (million pound + house spotting!) and lots of wee shops/cafes, kinda european style

My son and family spent a few days there last year and fell in love with it - they would have loved to go for a week or 10 days at Xmas but it was far too expensive.
