I don't think I've ever been to Florida without there being scaffolding on the castle. I get that they need to do the renovations some time but selfishly not when i'm there :-(

I'm sure the whole thing won't be covered. Most work usually takes place at night when the park is closed. Our first year we had the crane up, but after a couple of hours, we didn't even notice it. The castle is an important place but, only one part of MK.

Have you managed to read through the below post?

To be honest it would appear Disney are keen for this to have the least impact on visitors so i would imagine this will be less of an eye sore then first thought but i could be wrong.

We travel in April and although I'm disappointed, I'm confident Disney will enable you to still get decent Castle shots

For Christmas starting early November the castle is covered in lights so cannot be painted at that time. They will make sure it’s painted during the summer

Going May too. Not really concerned. They’ll manage it well.

summer isn’t the busiest time at WDW anymore with crowds much more spread out. Fall- Oct to early Nov is now as busy as the summer months and Christmas, spring break (March) and Easter are all busier than Summer.

There is no good time to do work but work and repaints need to happen. Their will always be work somewhere at the parks when ever you go and some of the attractions closed for refurb work.
