When i was a lad there was one just oiver the bridge on the abbey side on the right. used to love it there but thinking on now was probably the only place we ever ate 'out' seated as a family... this was early 70's mind...

We have friends who live in Whitby, they say the Magpie can be very hit and miss (and pricey) on quality and has generally gone downhill. They now get their F&C fix at Hadleys.

I’ve been to Whitby once. It was one of the weirdest days of my life!
We went to Trenchers after we’d scattered FIL’s ashes to remove ourselves from the bizarre situation we found ourselves in and it was ok.
I reckon there are probably nicer places on the way towards the abbey.

#No reflection on Whitby by the way

Quayside is the shop which supplies the North York Moors Railway with F&C for the fish and chip days.

We stood outside a fantastic chippy in Whitby with brilliant fish n chips.

My late brilliant father in law didn't notice a huge seagull had landed one in his tray as it flew over.

"Eee Tartar Sauce, grand" he said.😂

We only just managed to stop him digging in.

He pulled the batter off the fish, threw away a few chips and carried on😂
