Another vote for magpie. Can't comment on anywhere else as we only ever go for fish and chips there when in Whitby.

Silver street fisheries have really good fish and chips. Tucked away further up in the town. Definitely worth a visit

Another vote for silver street fisheries, and they have a seating area outside, though it needs to be a lot warmer than it currently is in Whitby, it’s freezing! Can’t fault the magpie, though I don’t think their fish and chips are any better than most of the takeaways

depends what kind of dining experience you are looking for - cheap and cheerful and great value for money i would defo say The Fish Box (opposite the co-op) do value meal deals including a side and drink for £9 for haddock/cod. tables inside and out, served in a takeaway box

something more up market i'd go for The Quayside or Trenchers or The Magpie though that is usually q'd all down the road and wouldnt say its any nicer or better than the latter 2

My parents moved to Whitby 4 years ago, and get their ‘fish Friday’ fix at Trenchers. Their preferred take out is Mister Chips, you can also take your take out to The Endeavour, wheee they will provide cutlery and condiments as long as you buy a drink.

That's interesting.
Normally we eat them in the car park opposite Mister Chips with seagulls staring menacingly at us through the windscreen.

Will try The Endeavor next time.
