Mobile Best Beach whilst staying at Disneyworld?

Hey

I hope your all well!
I'm just doing our plans for October this year and want to surprise my parents with a day at the beach, they are desperate to go and I've kept saying no because I'm petrified of sharks 😂 but want to try and get over that for my 3 year old daughters sake! So I've been looking at surprising them with a day at a beach but can't decide which one so of course I knew exactly where to come and ask

We are staying at All Stars so would get an uber so it will be me, my parents and my daughter! I've looked at Anna Maria Island and Clearwater, so about a 2 hour drive, I just wondered if any of you guys knew of anything nicer or closer etc or the best one to go too?!

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

TBH - AMI is worth the drive. In fact it would better if you could do an overnight. Beautiful spot.

We drove to Cocoa Beach which was a straight forward journey, I can’t really comment on the actual beach as the heavens opened once we got there 🙄

Next time we are excited to go to Clearwater.

Why dont you hire a car for a day far cheaper

We always used to go to St Petes but the shuffle thing because of the rays has put us off we go to Atlantic side now sand not as nice but no bloody rays

Definitely look at hiring a car, an uber would be at least $100 each way to St Petes beach. Personally I much prefer the Gulf beaches than the Atlantic.

Atlantic resorts are a bit closer but we much prefer the Gulf side and AMI is one of our regular day trips.

Sorry I've no idea about Uber though as we always hire a car.

I think I would plump for Clearwater if just for a day. Nice beach, pier and plenty of places to eat and drink in a fairly compact area.

Can't help with the transport option, but Attractiontickets.com have a number or organised trips to Clearwater which might fit your bill.

Cocoa and nearby East coast beaches are closer. One could say the beaches are less aesthetically pleasing compared to the white sand of the West coast but they are still great and less crowded. Sea temperatures are not too bad in October but start to taper off towards the end. Each coast has a very different vibe about it. I prefer the West but the like the fact I can pop to Cocoa and back easily on an evening.

As others have said you might want to rethink the Uber situation. The traffic around Clearwater during busy periods can be ridiculous and could take a lot longer than 2 hours. If an Uber was the only option id stick to a Disney water park to be honest and pretend I was at the beach!

We went to Cocoa beach after Kennedy Space Centre - we stood on our side of the Atlantic and waved "at" grandparents who were on the UK side. Was quite emotional!
