Lots of museums , Liverpool Life near the pier head is good . Then you have World museum , walker art gallery, slavery which is part of the maritime, plus the tate all have free entry. Then paid ones like beetles or british music experience. All those are great if the weather is not good.
You may also want to consider one of the guided walks there are several which offer different experiences from movie locations to basic history.
As mentioned by others the gromley statues is nice of a sunny day and is easy either via car, or merseyrail get off at waterloo station.
Or a nice walk along otterspool prom and the old garden festival site is only a short distance from your accomodation.
Plenty of shopping opportunities in Liverpool.
On an evening why not visit one of several comedy venues all reasonably priced eg laughterhousecomedy £15 each.
Then we do have lots lovely local restuaruants to choose from.
One other thing if you are going into liverpool centre etc and maybe want a drink use Delta taxis as they work out a lot cheaper then black cabs.

There is also the Beatles museum and Matthew Street which houses the Cavern Club - if you like the Beatles of course. Don't forget the Beatles statues with the Liver building in the background.
Yes the Philharmonic pub is know listed, amazing building and the toilets are worth a visit 😂
