Transferring Virgin airmiles

My dad has around 4500 airmiles that he's sitting on from when we went to Florida a couple of years ago. He's not going to use them. I am very close to 30,000 which means if I could potentially use my dads, it would buy me a return flight (in the right season!)

Do you know how he can go about doing this, and is it worth it?

TIA!

Hi. I see you already have an account. Log in and in the Flying Club section you will see a link to buy gift to transfer miles.
That will give you a price for the transfer to you albeit Dad will have to do it from his account.
Not cheap though.

Edit. My Granddaughter has about 7500 and I am undecided if it’s worth me buying them.

You will only be able to transfer over 4000, as can only
Send over in increments of 1k, however it will cost £60.00 to transfer, you can buy 4000 miles for the same amount.

Hmm £60 is it worth it? I'm not sure...! We aren't planning to go until next October and have been saving through Tesco clubcard. At least I know it's there as an option!

I wonder if he can 'buy' the flight for you without transferring or does he have to be travelling at the same time? , you may be able to get oneway and use yours for the return.
