Help/advice needed please
I'm going to have to be vague so as not to breach confidentiality.
I work as a consultant neurosurgeon for the NHS. One of my current patients is one of my friends. Obviously I wouldn't work on families cases or cases I couldn't try and emotionally detach myself from. But until yesterday I thought I had managed to remain emotionally detached from her case, but then yesterday she went into cardic arrest (revived by me and the crash team) and I think its just made me realise that I'm way too emotionally attached with her case. Obviously management know she's my friend (not a close friend but still one of my friends) but I thought I could remain emotionally detached from it while in work but I don't think I can. I need to ask to be removed from her case don't I? Or can she still be my patient? Any advice appreciated, thank you {Admin Edit - Fake Account Banned} Edited at 08:41 AM. |
