A little update on mason

After all your kind words before Christmas I thought I would give a little update on Mason.
He has adapted to the feeding tube amazingly. He just gets on with it without complaining 💗 we are so proud of him! Kids are so resilient, he is doing far better than I would thats for sure. He has lost a bit of weight but still looks healthy.
His official results from the endoscopy & colonoscopy came today including a letter from his consultant. If all goes well after 8 weeks Mason will go on Azathioprine 🤷 I have no idea what that is yet but it’s definitely better than surgery so hopefully the modulen feeds work.

A quick review of his results for anyone who is interested. I do think bowel problems need to be addressed asap, I know a lot of people feel too embarrassed to go to the GP regarding such matters. But an early diagnosis of whatever it maybe is always the better option.

Confirmation of Crohn’s disease and oral crohns.
Chronic swelling of lips, perianal chronic fistula, involvement of upper gastrointestinal tract with giant cells, active chronic ulcers in keeping with crohns.
Oesophageal biopsy- active chronic colitis
Gastric biopsy- diffuse & focally enhanced gastritis
Duodenal biopsies - active chronic duodenities with giant cells
Ileal biopsies - active chronic ileitis
Caecal biopsies - surface inflammatory debris indicating nearby ulceration
Ascending to descending colon - active chronic colitis
Sigmoid colon and rectal biopsies - active chronic colitis
Aphthous ulcerations in terminal ileum.
Oedema and erythema in stomach and throughout intestinal tract.

I don’t know the difference between these results and earlier results (maybe this is just the biopsies) his earlier results described the size of the ulcerations which are not mentioned here.
