Pre pandemic, this would be a rather quiet time of year for the BA call centre, particularly the avios centre. I wouldn’t say it means they are struggling, I would say it means things are getting back to more of a normality. Pre pandemic, except occasionally during peak times, waits to get through wouldn’t be very long.

We have a booking for May which am thinking of changing until next year. The booking is mainly money but some Avios were used. If I request a voucher will it be for the money paid and will the Avios go back into our household account. TIA.

Hi Sue
Thanks for this, the points are back, the booking has gone from MMB and I will keep my eye out for the return payment that they say should be 7-10 days as it was only booked at midnight. I do a daily CC check so will watch carefully. Thanks

Not sure if it’s changed, but they were keeping the avios as a part of the booking and the avios would also be used towards your new booking.

This might be a daft question, if I’ve only paid the deposit (£350) and I change before I pay the balance, is my voucher and expectation to spend just for the £350 (So I can book a European city break) or do I have to “spend” the full value of the booking ie £2000 on something new?
Thanks

You only need to spend your deposit amount

I also called this morning - 8am. Got straight through to a lovely lady who dealt with my new booking and voucher (decided to rebook our August trip using a voucher from a cancelled trip as was £500 cheaper than when I booked, and have applied for a voucher from the original August trip and will use for a December trip when it comes through). We have used BA for the last 6 years as they were consistently cheaper, but the way they have dealt with everything for us this past year, they’re my preferred company.

BA isn’t a company I’ve ever used - obviously we use them for work, but I’ve not been in work for nearly a year now so I’m not up to date with BA at all.

I’ve got family looking at Vegas for later this year (back end), have BA dealt with this crisis well? Is their money likely to be safe/returned to them if by November we still can’t get into the US? I’d normally speak to work but it’s not a route we’re doing anymore so they can’t book through them.
