Mobile ‘Best’ PE seats on the a330-200

Hi everyone

Hoping to book for November later this week (I’m in the wishful thinking that it will happen stage at the moment) & haven’t been on virgins a330-200 before.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the ‘best’ seats as I notice there’s only 35 or so seats.

Does the back row offer the most recline?

Have done Pe and upper on the older planes.

The back row does have a decent recline, we always try to get them - 25 A & C.
edit - sorry this is on a a330-300

Can not say which are the best but 18H & K were good. Enough space behind to recline and not disturb anyone. Its pretty peaceful as you are far away from the toilets too.

ed. the middle seats at the back of PE are a bit strange too. it feels like you are in economy

As in another thread somewhere on here, I personally don't think the A330-200's will fly again for Virgin. The longer this situation goes on, and the longer they are not flying their normal programme then the more likely it is that the planes will be returned to the lessors... early. They were scheduled for withdrawal in early 2022 anyway.
They are not using any of their more modern and more efficient A330-300's at all at the moment, I think they will return when/if there is the need for them long before the 200's are considered.

Strange...we have some threads on here with a lot of people saying/accepting that things won't be back to anything like normal until 2022, and then marry that up with an struggling airline using its leased and soon to be returned aeroplanes any time soon.

Be aware, Virgin's A330-200 in PE has 17.7" of width in hard sided PE seats, which is the same as economy but the arm rests raise on the economy seats. To give yourself an idea of 'bum/hip' room, measure one of your chairs to 17.7" whilst keeping in mind you'll be in that hard sided seat space for circa 9 hours! The A330-200 are the former Air Berlin aircraft.

The A330-300 still has 21" of width in PE. Virgin began UC and PE seat width reduction with their new A350-1000 when they reduced UC by 2" to 20" and PE by 2.5" to 18.5". Virgin had planned to refit their A330-300's to seat dimensions per the A350 but covid may have put paid to that for a while.

So if that is true (looking in my app for December it's the A300 200) when do you think the app will reflect the change of plane? Thiking of booking either economy delight or premium. If there was a plane change i take it we would be swapped to equivalent seats?

That’s really interesting and a good consideration. Thanks to everyone for their inputs also.

Yes, the flight is currently showing with the 200. I’ll have to check out the seating plan for the 300 also.

Phew, just checked and ours in August is A300-300 if the holiday isn’t cancelled

Funny, looking in my virgin app and it says A330 200. Click on the arrow next to it and it takes you to a page listing their fleet. A330 300 is on there but not the A300 200 which i am due to travel on in December.
