Thanksgiving?
What happens on thanksgiving? Do the shops close? If so, for how long? The next day?

At Florida mall last year JC Penny opened at 4pm on the Thursday, Macy’s opened at 6pm ... the actual mall opened up at 6pm too, not every shop opened at 6pm though. The mall remained opened the whole night.
The outlets opened at midnight and remained open until 11pm on the Friday . Target, Best Buy, Walmart all opened at 6pm Every year the shops are opening earlier. Absolutely love shopping on thanksgiving |

The following day is Black Friday, when the major sales start so shops used to open at midnight (a bit like people queuing overnight here for the Boxing Day sale) to attract the crowds for the initial bargains, but now the shops are all trying to be 'first' so opening earlier and earlier on the evening of the holiday.

Most shops have door buster deals so it is definitely worth going if there is something you fancy. For example last year in target amazon tablets were $29.99 and apple watch $179.99.
The likes of JC Penny, Macy’s and other department stores have certain items drastically reduced for say the first few hours. In the outlets there is maybe 50% off sale prices. Sometime though in the outlets the sale price has been live for a few days previously. As previously mentioned the sale used to start midnight but it purely due to competition that they are opening earlier and earlier. |

Are the malls madly busy on Black Friday?

Sorry, I can't help - we avoided it at all costs this year. We stayed in the Disney bubble

We went to the international premium outlet on Thanksgiving in November 2016. The shops where mental, but the sales were sooo good, so definitely worth it for us
