Ugh I know! Can't believe we used to shovel it down as a treat. (It was my grandad who gave it to us, too! )

Oh wow, i still almost can smell the 'smell' of a box or bag of broken biscuits if I try hard enough
The joy of working your way through starting with the 'good' ones, got down to crumbs! Those were the days!

Liver. I don’t remember getting it at home but we did at school and I wouldn’t eat it and got into trouble. I just can’t stomach it.
And runny mince. My dad made this every Saturday and I can’t eat runny mince now, it’s got to be thick and yummy now.

Tin hamburgers in gravy served with instant mash, or fray bentos tinned pie and mash.
Also the oval tins of ham with the jelly on it for Boxing Day tea ‘treat’ served with pickled beetroot, Dairylea cheese triangles and triangles of buttered brown bread

I think we grew up in the same house

The thing that got me was that a portion was one tinned hamburger with a smear of gravy and an ice cream scoop of instant mash. (And in our house a table spoon of tinned garden peas, usually the vile "mint" ones)

Yes, we had a tin of burgers between the 4 of us, so one burger and a ‘dollop’ of mash. We sometimes had the awful tinned peas too, and sometimes we had ‘mixed veg’ in a tin. I never actually worked out what they were as they tasted of water, but some squares were orange so I guess they were carrots 😂
