NY Eve just us 2 - nice nibbles and drinks in front of the TV. NY Day - 4 of us (or 3 depending on the tier change tomorrow) will be roast beef and yorkshire puds - I will do a nice dessert but no starters.

I am going to make steak pie for New Year’s Day. Having a trial run at getting the stew the way I want it today.
Might make stovies for Hogmanay.

New Year’s Eve will just be me and the kids, I’m working till 4/5pm so will get some nibbles. We’re having a curry tomorrow night instead as DH is home. NYD I haven’t thought that far ahead yet, I might do a nice pasta bake, we’ve all had enough of roast dinners for a while!

Yes I know what you mean about roasts- they just go a long way and mean I don't have to cook for a while!

Stovies are a sort of thick stew made with potato, onion and carrots and a meat. I use sliced sausage , some people use corned beef or left over beef.
They are quite traditional in Scotland. They might sound basic but are absolutely delicious.
