Dh started the my mum put it in front of me and if I didn’t eat it I went hungry. I then told him I would cook his mum a curry or Mexican and tell her she has to eat it, she doesn’t do spicy lol! 😉
Sandra my FIL lives with us and is a there must be meat on the plate , been using Quorn substitute with some meals and he doesn’t even notice 😉

I’m 34 and my parents can’t help but comment if I eat something unhealthy... “ooh, should you be having that” etc. I’m overweight (as are they) but I’m also educated, and know what is a good and bad choice, and I want to be left alone.

We lived with them recently and I nearly lost my head when my Dad had a pop at me for eating a bag of Malteasers on a Friday night, when I’d been run off my feet all week, in a 5-day jury trial, and my client went down for over 11 years.

So, to get to my point, I’m with you. Everyone has to make their own choices, healthy or otherwise, and you don’t want resentment to breed.

I am a slob because I only ever eat dinners on my lap (including Christmas dinner) but I honestly always use the bib my son bought me because I kept soiling myself.

My ds21 wanted a takeaway tonight, on our first day of weigh in. I told him he has to stop ordering takeaways and we will have it as a treat on a saturday night. He got in from work at 7.15pm and said he wasn't that hungry so I made him some crumpets lol but he would of scoffed a kfc or maccie d's 😳

We eat Christmas Day, Boxing Day and if anyone comes for dinner at the table. Otherwise in the frontroom, Easter Sunday will probably be the next time we use it, or if we are ever allowed to see our friends for a meal! In the summer we sit at the patio table and eat but once we get an extension I won’t have much of a garden.

We never have take aways (or processed, ready meals) my husband likes meals to be cooked from scratch. So as a result my kids prefer home cooked meals too.
My daughter works part time but she is far too tight to spend money on take aways anyway lol lol
I am the most overweight person in our family but this size 14 butt will soon hit the road 🤞🏻
My daughter has always been classed as underweight but she doesn’t look it. My middle son is a long skinny pole but currently building on muscle for boxing. My youngest is average weight although he has lost loads the last couple of weeks.
I think this is all due to how active they are rather than diet ad they do have treats 🤷

The one thing we don’t allow in our house, is meals in bedrooms.
Adult child or not.

I make when I think everyone’s will like, if they don’t like it then there’s toast, fruit or cereal. I can’t say I would be too happy even as adults if they ordered take away! But I can’t stop them!

I am 47 and my mother still has a go at me at what I eat. She has lectured me for the past 12 months because I have gained weight and how terrible I look by being so fat! I should be embarrassed etc etc 🙈
